Answer questions 1-6 on the form titled (Graphic Organizer) The last 3 questions can just be in another document. I have attached a link to read one of the articles and will attach pictures of the other 2.
This
assignment is based on the three readings from this week (listed below) and the
Educational Technology Integration “Do’s and Don’ts” PowerPoint.

Affordance Analysis: Matching Learning Tasks with Learning Technologies * Photoes attached
Be
sure to read the articles and view the PowerPoint Presentation about
Educational Technology Integration “Do’s and Don’ts” before beginning
this assignment.
In
these readings and presentation, you learned about what the “affordances” of a
technology are, and how these features help teachers achieve their
instructional goals. Affordances should guide teachers’ decision making about
what technologies to use in their classroom, and how. This is “task-first”
decision making.
Follow
the steps below to complete the graphic organizer and demonstrate your “task
first” thinking process for comparing two different approaches to accomplishing
an instructional task.
1) 1) Identify a specific
instructional task you might teach. Be as specific as possible! For
examples may be: assessing students understanding of the themes of a novel,
showing students how to compare two fractions, demonstrating how to measure
distance on a map.
2) 2) Brainstorm
three goals you have for this task
3) 3) Name 2
options (technologies/methods) for accomplishing this task. I suggest making
one of these options a “traditional” version that does not use any digital
technologies For example, showing how to measuring distance on a map using a
printed map and a ruler
4) 4) For each
option, brainstorm 4 affordances of this option. For example, one
affordance of modeling how to measure distance on a map with a printed map and
ruler is that this option lets the teacher easily bring the map and ruler to
individual students. Your options may have an affordance in common, but try to
focus on the affordances unique to each option.
5) 5)For each
option, brainstorm 4 Limitations of this option. For example, one limitation of
modeling how to measure distance on a map with a printed map and ruler is that
the materials can be difficult for all students in the room to see. Your
options may have a limitation in common, but try to focus on the limitations unique
to each option.
6) 6) Decide which
option you would use and, in 1-2 sentences, explain why. Your explanation
should be based on your analysis of the comparative affordances and
limitations.
7) What is Bennet’s complaint about Yigel Rosen (and H.
Braun, and Iris Wolf)?
8) On pg 131, what does Bennet say is the most common
finding in studies comparing students learning using computers versus those
taught in traditional methods?
9) On page 133, Bennet says, “good teaching relies on
things that have been around for millennia” then lists those things. We have
recently talked about these things… what terms do we use to describe what
Bennet is referring to?
