technology that can be used in your classroom/program

Select one use of emerging technology (such as those explored in the previous modules), and develop a final project using that technology. You will not receive instruction on how to use the specific technologies, it is your responsibility to find examples of emerging technology that may apply to your situation and search for tutorials. Please test out a few ideas, then submit a project proposal before you begin.

In addition to the project, develop a 5-7 page paper that explains your project from beginning to end including how the technology you selected will be used in your classroom/program. Assess your choice of technology. Is it user-friendly? Is it too costly for teacher/school? Would the learning curve be too high? Does it protect student/classroom privacy? If you can find a professional article to support your assessment, even better!

Some examples include:

Develop a video for families that includes the current recommendations for the use of technology. Your paper might outline the research on this topic and explain how your presentation was developed. Then you might show the presentation to some families and then assess their response to the presentation in your paper. Do you think it was effective?
Develop a website that provides information and resources for the families in your program. Your paper might explain how and why you developed the website, the lessons learned and future professional recommendations. You might share the final website with families and ask for their feedback. Is it helpful? Then explain how it aligns with NAEYC standards for parent involvement and technology.
Rubric: Please provide the following components in your paper:

Topic or purpose of project explained (include link to your project if possible)
Success and challenges discussed
Assess your technology; Did it serve it’s purpose? Why or why not?
Discuss how the project falls within NAEYC and ITSE recommendations and guidelines
Find at least two outside resources to support your work and add a reference page at the end of your paper.
Upper level writing and APA style is expected
