This paper is for a 4th year undergrad Economic Anthropology class. The subject is “the biography of things”.
I want this paper written in english, but I will translate it myself to French. As such I do not care about the formatting, or perfect grammar. I don’t care if the essay is polished, I care about the research and arguments. I can write the filling.
I have most of the ideas, I’m just too tired to organize them myself.
The case study is the painting of the man with the golden helmet, specifically this extract 36:17 to 43:55 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPznJlyjjwc
It must have :
– an introduction with either a question or a hypothesis
– definitions of concepts used with sources
– arguments with sources (can be the same sources as concepts) comparing the case study to said authors
– conclusion
Two authors absolutely have to be mentionned : Kopytoff and Appadurai.
I was thinking of a question about Appadurai’s terminal commodity concept, but it’s up to you, you don’t have to follow that idea.
