(CC1, CC3): The correctional system is fluid and ever-changing, and as much as movies, television shows, and music would have us believe, the system of sixty years ago is not the system of today. That being said, many things still need mending, and other prison practices–many would argue–need abolishment entirely.
For this week’s discussion, describe the current correctional system and how it operates. Find one case study or scholarly article that offers a new theory, reform, or practice that is believed to show positive changes to our correctional system or that has been hypothesized to show a reduction in recidivism rates. Summarize the case and discuss the findings. Do you agree with the research?
