For your first research assignment Part I, you will research, acquire, read and analyze a secondary source. The secondary source must come from an academic book, journal, periodical, or academic website. First go to page 5 of your textbook and view the map of Native tribes at first sustained contact. Select one of the tribes and locate a secondary historical source that meets the time parameters of the course pre-contact-1865. You will read the source and article and do the following:
Post the article or a link to the article in the discussion board and in the assignment area and provide the following:
The link for the article, including a full citation
Summarize the article in three paragraphs answering the following:
-How have you determined the article/resource is a secondary source?
-What is the historical argument or main focus/topic of the article?
-Determine any biases or perspective of the author/creator. (You may need to look the author up and find out information)
