In order to show off your understanding of research and your writing skills, you will complete a research proposal. Please get started on this as soon as you possibly can. It will take more work than you think. The paper must include a cover page, abstract, literature review, aims of your research project, method section, and references section. The final research paper must be in APA style. There are examples of what each section should include in the APA Manual. You may also consult peer reviewed journals, though the APA Manual is the ultimate source since it will describe what an actual manuscript should look like. There will also be a sample paper on the Canvas website in the Writing Resources tab under Course Essentials. The paper should be no more than 8 pages long (1 inch margins, 12-pt font, double spaced, not including the title page and reference page). Please consult the
Page 3 of 5Writing Resources tab in Canvas as it will contain everything you need to know to be successful on the paper including instructions, PowerPoint, rubric, and sample paper. Please keep in mind that this is a RESEARCH paper and thus requires a professional and technical voice (this kind of writing is very different from the writing you have been doing in literature courses, so keep that in mind).
