This is an OPTIONAL activity, for which you may earn extra credit points.
The internet abounds with popular groups focused on various aspects of history, including the Crusades. An example of the latter is Real Crusades History
(Links to an external site.)
, which has been going strong now for over two decades. Its founders and organizers are not professional historians, but have a strong passion for the Crusades and increasing popular interest in the subject.
Among its “History Team” offerings are podcasts, including an interesting one on “The Albigensian Crusade, 1209-1229.” It’s a discussion with Rand Brown, Paul Copenhagen, and J Stephen Roberts as the participants. Length is: 1:33:43. HERE’s THE YouTube THE LINK

.
The extra credit offer here is as follows. Listen to this podcast, taking notes as necessary, and form an assessment as to the overall quality of the discussion. In other words, are the participants very informed about the subject? Is their understanding of the key issues of this Crusade correct? Do they make egregious errors? At the end of your review, give them a score (as we mark you, in Discussions) from 1 to 10. What’s required? Write up a five hundred or more word review and enter it within the Assignments link.
In making your critical assessment, use as your point of departure all the assigned readings in this module, which are meant — after all — to give you an accurate understanding of “The Albigensian Crusade.”
What’s the timetable? You can have between midnight April 3 and midnight April 16 to engage in this activity, and work up your assessment and send it to Professor Reinert.
What’s the bonus? You can get up to ten (10) extra credit points depending on the quality of your review.
This is an extra credit possibility, worth up to ten (10) bonus points.
The project is described in Module 11, under “Optionally Analyze an Internet Podcast on the Albigensian Crusade.”
