The Lord’s Prayer Paper

So far, using the Resources above this page, you have chosen one phrase from the Lord’s Prayer to focus upon. You have looked up the three corresponding texts from Scripture and thought about what they mean in relation to your chosen phrase. This paper will help you synthesize what you have been learning about this phrase/petition from the Lord’s Prayer.
Write a paper that includes an introductory paragraph with the body of the paper addressing your exploration, and a concluding paragraph. Instead of repeating large portions of the Scriptural texts that you read, I want to see that you are understanding and them in relation to your phrase and the questions below. So, only use direct Scripture quotes as needed, citing them parenthetically as indicated in the Guidelines for Properly Citing Sources in This Course

Your introduction (beginning on the first page) should 1) creatively draw the reader in, 2) communicate the purpose/direction of your paper, and 3) inform the reader of which petition (phrase) you are focusing upon.
In the body of your paper, articulate your response after reflecting on these questions:
The Christian belief is that Jesus has revealed the invisible Father to the world. Through the Scripture texts you read, what has been revealed about “our Father” and about the Son that he has sent (that is, what have you learned about them through this exploration)?
How is someone in relationship with this God being invited to live? And why?
In response to this prayer of petition, what is God doing; what are the graces God is providing?
What significance or application does this message have for life in the world today? Relate this to a specific example.
In light of all this, form a view yourself. That is, decide whether you agree or disagree, accept or reject the message being given and your interpretation of it at this point. Explain why you support this position.
In your concluding paragraph: 1) sum up your paper. 2) Include a response about how this exploration and reflection was for you (helpful or not; what you gained from this, etc.).
At the top of the first page (right or left) include your name, THEO 205, Paper 1, and the date.
Take time to proofread and edit your paper. Your paper should be typed, double-spaced, use 12-point font, and it should be two to four pages in length.
