Capstone Project Paper Format
Write in complete sentences and use proper grammar as well as double-spacing, 12-point font, header, page number, and one-inch margins. Your paper must be appropriately formatted and cited in accordance with all APA guidelines. Be sure to cite your sources using APA format. Remember to reference all work cited or quoted by your sources. You should be doing this often in your discussions.
1. Title Page – precise outline focusing on your Capstone Project. Be sure to follow APA Title Page formatting.
2. Table of Contents – listing of all relevant sections, chapters, and tables as well as figures, references, and other major divisions within your manuscript indicating both order and page number location. Be sure to follow the APA Table of Contents format.
3. Executive Summary – the executive summary is written to express the main points, concepts, and conclusions for developing your paper. Many technical writing experts consider this to be the most important section of your paper. The Executive Summary is usually one to two pages in length.
4. Historical Background – this section is the beginning of your 25-minimum page requirement. In this section discuss the historical significance of your selected topic and how it relates to your organization. This section may require several pages to properly cover the historical significance. Be sure to follow APA formatting.
5. Topic Objectives and Analysis – this section is the bulk of your report. In this section, you discuss the specifics of your Capstone Project Topic and associated organization. This will require several APA Subtitle Levels to properly present your information, as outlined below:
Level 1-Subheading
Centered, Bold, Uppercase and Lowercase
Level 2-Subheading, Flush Left, Bold, Uppercase, and Lowercase
Level 3-Subheading, indented, bold, lowercase paragraph heading ending with a period. Text continues on the same line, but is not indented on the next line.
Level 4-Subheading, bold, indented, italicized, lowercase paragraph heading ending with a period. Text continues on the same line, but is not indented on the line.

6. Conclusions – this section formulates the end of your required 25 pages for your Capstone Project paper. In this section, summarize your research findings and conclusions. Additionally, provide your own supported beliefs and opinions based on your previous foundational sections: 4) Historical Background (eliminate the next word) and 5) Topic Objectives and Analysis. Be sure to follow APA format.
7. References – a references list catalogs all sources (minimum of twenty) you researched and cited in the body of your paper, based on the development of your Capstone Project paper. Your References list must be in APA format.
8. Appendices – all charts, graphs, and tables in addition to photos and illustrations not embedded within your previous sections, e.g. Historical Background, Topic Objectives and Analysis, and Conclusions, should go in an appendix. Your appendices are the last section of your Capstone Project paper.
