The Quran and its impact on modern Jihad and terrorism

This is for my senior capstone and basically determines whether I get a college degree or not. Our class is focused around taking the Quran’s complexities and applying them within a modern context. I wanted to discuss the impact and ulitmate perversion many modern terrorist groups perform on the passages of the Quran. Islamic terrorists have perverted the word “Jihad” from the Quran itself and I need to be able to argue how and why its been perverted using direct quotes from the Quran, the history of select Islamic terrorist groups, and how and why its important today.
