– I have created a women empowerment index on State through Principal Component Analysis (will attach the results)
– The Independent variables are 1) Education 2) Decision making empowerment 3) Economic Empowerment 4) Socio Cultural Index and the dependent variable is each married woman’s ideal number of children
– The data has been taken from DHS India (NHFS)
– I want a systematic and well structured literature review looking at the various variables in relation with fertility preferences in India, and then study some international literature
– The gap analysis should also include how creating an empowerment index instead of studying individual variables can be beneficial
