1) We’ve discussed the effects of WWI on writers and the examples of the ways it appears or is reflected in many of the texts we’ve read. Choose two texts (or a group of poems) and dive deeper into the elements of war or wartime culture that can be seen in them. How has the experience of war translated into specific elements in a text? What might be lurking beneath the surface of a work that might otherwise seem unrelated to the war? Remember to deal specifically with any text or art object you use – work on sub-sections of it, cite it, and analyze it.
