The assignment requirements and framework are as follows:
Format:
1) Typed – Times New Roman 12 point font
2) Double-spaced
3) At least three (3) full pages long.

Content:
1) You are expected to utilize all aspects of the theatre read and discussed in class to frame your critique. To do this, you are required to analyze the production through the lens of Aristotle’s Poetics. Make sure, in crafting your paper, you address all aspects of the Poetics described in our reading and lectures. (This includes: plot, character, theme, diction, music and spectacle).
2) You may choose to use other elements we have read about to add to the above requirement, but you must – at least – critique through the lens of the Poetics as outlined above.
3) Be sure to support all of your points with specific details from the production. If you appreciate or do not appreciate an aspect of the production, be sure to explain your perspective in a way that incorporates the knowledge you are learning.
4) Avoid a play summary. It is essential that you utilize the bulk of this paper to evaluate the production you saw.
5) Be sure to include the play/musical title.
