Discussion Prompt for Module 4:
Reflect on the Nursing situation that
you submitted in Module 1 and thoughtfully consider which theoretical
approach to caring in nursing is most congruent with your practice.
Briefly apply Dr, Smith’s analysis of nursing theories (in Chapter2
& 3 of text book Theories for Practice) to your nursing situation
and describe the purpose, the values, the metaparadigm and environment.
This will be outline/framework for your Synthesis Paper in which you
situate your nursing situation in a Theory grounded in caring that you
studied this term: Boykin & Schoenhofer, Watson, Ray, Leininger, Locsin, Smith, Duffy or Parker, Barry & King.
