1. You must include a working title and thesis statement/description – it does not have to be in its
final form at this stage. Continuing your literature search will help you to refine your title and
thesis. However, your current statement(s) should be strong and clear.
2. Your assignment is to be prepared according to The Publication Manual of the American
Psychological Association, 7th edition (aka APA Manual). The attached AB template is for
formatting purposes; reference format should follow the APA 7th edition. A template for this assignment is also attached, if you choose to use it. If you have acquired a copy of PERRLA,
and wish to use it to format your AB. See the attached document.
3. At least six scholarly/authoritative* sources must be included in the AB.
4. You are to include the following four elements for each reference in this assignment (also see
the rubric for evaluation criteria).
– Give the complete reference in correctly formatted APA 7th edition style.
– Give a brief description of the type of scholarly/authoritative* source.
– Summarize (e.g. 7-12 sentences) the contents of the source. There is no need for in-text
citations for these entries, as the reference is immediately above your description. However, you should be trying to paraphrase as best as possible.
– Describe how this material will be useful to you in writing an academic paper on your
selected topic.
