Hospitality and Tourism Job Search

Locate a job opening in any hospitality and tourism field of interest. You can use job sites such as Monster.com, Career Builder, or even LinkedIn or other professional sites, or go directly to the official website of any company of interest (Walt Disney World, SouthWest Airlines, Hilton, etc.).

1. Create a screenshot of the job description and attach it to your paper (you won’t be able to attach a link since those may disappear once the job is filled or the offer withdrawn). Your screenshot (or photo) doesn’t need to be complete enough to show the entire listing; I just want to see where you found it and what was listed.

2. Answer the following (short bulleted answers are fine):

What was the job title?
What company?
Where did you find the listing? (what website or was it posted in person or in a newspaper, etc.?)
What is the job description? Include details such as skills, certifications required, or anything else specified on the job announcement.
Are there educational requirements listed to apply? If so, what are they?
What are the listed job responsibilities?
3. In a few short sentences, tell me your impression of the job based on the job description. Could you get a good feel for the what the job includes from the description? What about the organization? What type of candidate would be a good fit for the job (personality, skills, work style, etc.) in your opinion? For example:

Would someone need to be a team player or is the job self-contained?
Is the organization a large corporate structure, or is it a small family-owned business?
Does the job require extensive training or is it entry level?
Feel free to include additional perspective based on the job description you selected.
