This week, we are further exploring the international and transnational nature of immigration. The notion of transnational migration is an important one. You are beginning to understand the powerful global and transnational factors that influence the movement of people across borders. and how they are treated.
For this discussion, I want you to pick one of the following questions/issues, and answer it in a 500-word post. Please make your post by Wednesday night, and engage in back and forth discussions with classmates. In your posts, use this week’s readings from our book and at least two outside, high-quality sources (and, each of you should know what a high-quality source is by now, right? 🙂
1.Explore how transnational migration differs from more traditional migratory patterns.
2.Explore one example of transnational migration other than the ones explored in the chapters in our book and the videos.
3.Using support from the literature, what are some of the needs of transmigrants, and how might these needs be attended to?
4.Explore how the nature of transnational migration influences and is influenced by the criminalization of immigration.
