Part 1:

Develop an APA 6th Ed. formatted essay documenting the information needed for a BMET to provide user training on a piece of medical equipment of your choice.

You must use the ‘Essay Rubric’ as your guide. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you might have.

Each of the 3 user correctable issues must be addressed in each of the 7 Steps
EX. Identify the problem
To identify a problem with the power cord…
To identify a problem with the ECG leads…
To identify a problem with the thermal paper…
You can address each step of the 7 Steps to success individually per user correctable issue, or you can address all 3 user correctable issues in each of the 7 Steps to Success
In total, your essay should be, at a minimum, bet between 1400-2100 words, not including the cover page and reference page.
Your essay must also include a current purchase quotation from a source of supply for any of the parts needed for your 3x common user issues.
2 of the user correctable issues must each include at least 1 part that can be ordered using an OEM/Vendor part number from the manual.
For example, a user issue could be how to replace a light bulb(s), or a filter assembly, a unit’s batteries, etc.
Part 2:

Develop/produce a PowerPoint presentation or YouTube video (that you have produced) that could be used to provide user training and as review material in the future by other new users.

You must use the ‘Essay Rubric’ as your guide. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you might have.
Your PowerPoint presentation or YouTube video must be developed to provide user training on your chosen piece of equipment.
User Training consists of how the User would operate the equipment as well as a brief overview of the device.
Your training must provide enough visual and narrative clues that a user could use the training materials as a reference while repairing the 3 common user issues.

Min of 3 images highlighting your chosen user issues
Recommendations:

Choose a piece of medical equipment that:

You are at least somewhat familiar with, if possible.
This can be a device we previously covered in class.
If you are a BMET or have worked with BMETS, use a piece of equipment you have previously worked on.
New/Refurbished parts can be purchased from a standard source of supply.
You have full access to the Service/User manual (digitally preferred).
You can identify 3x ‘Common’ user issues that a trained ‘user’ could fix with no more than a Phillips or standard screwdriver.

400 points total can be earned for this assignment. (Up to 200 points for the PowerPoint slideshow and up to 200 points for the APA formatted essay)
