paper needs to be written concisely with an emphasis on content and an avoidance
of verbosity.
Subject: The subject of the term paper is any topic related to material covered in the course.
This topic must be approved by your teaching assistant, i.e., the teaching assistant

Structure: The term paper will comprise an Introduction, a Description, a Discussion,
Conclusions and References.
Introduction; The introduction (~75 words) should introduce the topic and provide
a brief summary of the issues to be addressed in the body of the paper.
Description: This section (~400 words) should describe the subject matter,
identify the issues of interest and provide all the information needed to discuss the
subject. The sources of information should be cited by superscripted numbers at the
end of each sentence in which a piece of information is supplied. These numbers
should correspond to the order in which the source is first cited.
Discussion: The Discussion (450 words) is the heart of the term paper. It should
comprise an analysis of the information provided in the preceding section, and lead
to a set of conclusions.
Conclusions: In this section (75 words), you should provide a brief summary of the
principal findings of the study, presented in bullet form.
References: The references should be listed in numerical order at the end of the
paper, with the numbers corresponding to the order of citation in the body of the
paper. Consult a recent paper in Nature for the formatting of references and their
citation.
