The body of the paper (not counting title page or references) must be double spaced and at least 5 pages in length using 12-point font, 1-inch top and bottom margins, and 1-inch side margins. Don’t forget to put the title of your paper and your name on the front page. You will need to clear your topic with me before you go ahead with the writing. You should use at least four sources for your references. Your sources can be a journal, a book, a newspaper articles, or a magazine article. At least one source must be a book. Use the American Psychological Association (APA) style for writing to organize your paper. The headings for your final paper SHOULD be underlined. PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR TOPIC WISELY.
1. Introduction
The introduction section should start with an overview of your topic and your objectives. Introduce the reader to the problems, and the importance of addressing the problems. Remember that your problem statement is the backbone of your final paper. Some points to cover in your introduction section are:
The problems you are trying to address
Why should we care about the problems?
2. Literature review
The main point of the literature review is to set your paper off with current reviews of scholarly articles that will be relevant to your topic. Review two or three articles and examine their position and contribution to your topic. The literature review will enhance your understanding of the scholarly work on your topic; also, lay the foundation for your paper to provide motivation.
3. Solutions to the problems
This is the most important part of your final paper. Solutions to the problem should be written up as carefully and clearly as any other part of the paper.
4. Conclusions and Policy Implications
The conclusion should be short and sweet. Do not restate all your solutions to the problem. The conclusion should briefly summaries solutions, their importance and what this implies for policy. The conclusion should be strong and leaves the reader to solidly understand your position.
