* Strong topic sentences that tell the reader what one idea will be discussed in the paragraph and making sure that it supports the essay’s objective and the thesis statement.
* Creating clear organization throughout the essay and within each paragraph
* Thoroughness – ensure you are articulating your ideas or those of the source thoroughly and accurately
* Revision – a recursive process where you move back and forth through the drafting process to improve your essay as you develop ideas and information.
