Contemporary Ballet
In this week’s reading, we learned about the qualities, choreographic elements, and style/aesthetic of contemporary ballet. For this discussion, please do the following:
1) Using YouTube, Vimeo, or a similar video streaming website, select a video of contemporary ballet to observe, analyze, and discuss.
2) Post your selected video, along with a description of the elements you observed. What makes this a contemporary style ballet piece? What elements (movement, theme, costume, music, etc.) make it non-traditional/different from romantic and classical ballet?
