Final Research Paper: Students will develop their own individual research paper pertaining to
gender and society. Once the topic has been chosen, students will search the library database for
scholarly work and discuss these articles in the body of your final paper. Each paper should be
between 5-6 pages in length (apart from the bibliography), double-spaced, font 12, with one-inch
margins. Students must include a minimum of four reliable sources. Papers will be submitted
individually in Word format on Canvas.
1. Introduction: Student includes a clear introduction to the research paper including the general area of focus (e.g. gender and violence) with a well-developed thesis statement. (10 points)
2. Body: Students must discuss different areas of the research topic supported by four scholarly
articles gathered from the library database. Essentially, you are reading the articles summarizing
them in the paper (do not copy and paste your discussion posts). I have provided an example of an
outline of the body to help you.
3. Conclusion: Students’ conclusion section restates his/her main points of the paper
and successfully summarizes the information gathered for the final paper.
4. Organization/Clarity/Grammar: The student’s paper is well organized and clear.
Student also meets minimum page requirements and quotes/reference list are cited in
ASA format.
