“One requirement for this assignment is that the examples you select represent two different artistic movements, and these both are examples of Neoclassical history painting.
There are two options to fix this situation:
1. Change one of the examples you chose and select a different example to contrast, perhaps Death of General Wolfe with the Romantic painting of The Battle of Aylau by Gros. So you can discuss how the representation of “war” changes between these two periods.
You might also add how Gros did have some knowledge of Napoleon at war, unlike the two other examples you selected.
OR
2. You can add a third painting, such as the example above (or any other painting connected thematically to the two you chose), so that you have two Neoclassical examples that you will contrast against a later work.”
