“This project is designed to achieve two aims. It provides the students with an opportunity
to get feedback on their writing early in the course and improve their ability to analyze material
critically in the written form.
The assignment is straightforward. We will read one article for the seminar on 17
September 2021. After reflecting upon the information it contains, each student will write a
three
-page essay that addresses this question: was it hypocritical of the persons in the article to
support the aerial dusting of the Seymour Canyon? STUDENTS SHOULD NOT SIMPLY
SUMMARIZE THE INFORMATION IN THE ARTICLE. THEY SHOULD PRESENT AN
ARGUMENT SUPPORTED BY EVIDENCE FROM THE ARTICLE, THEIR OWN
EXPERIENCE, AND ANY OTHER SOURCE THE STUDENTS WISH TO USE!
NB:
Papers cannot be longer than 3 pages, double spaced, with regular 12-point font and 3 cm
or 1½ inch margins. Essays that exceed this limit will earn a grade of 0%”
