What a Difference Culture Makes in Business?

I visited Germany a few years ago and was ecstatic to see a Wal-Mart. Of course, I went inside to compare what was in the German Wal-Mart as opposed to the U.S. Everything was literally the same, but this was a problem with some of the customers. I lived in a village where buying in bulk (like what Wal-Mart offers) is not common. For instance, three large beef steaks in a package was unheard of in my village, because people shopped only once every two to three days, because they wanted fresh food. The small cultural difference led to the failure of Wal-Mart in this particular location in Germany.
