What are some strategies you use when children come into your space upset?

Directions:
You will need to engage in an independent project which includes community engagement. Your final product may be:
A) a 5-10 page paper the theme of this course focuses on school history, philosophy, and social issues in schooling.

All projects need to include the following:
Overview of the project and goals
Background about the organization/individual/community.
Summary of data/information gathered. Include questions that guided the inquiry.
Analysis of what you learned. Address educational, social, or policy implications from the data you collected. Recommendations you have and next steps for someone who wants to get involved.
The Written Assignment for the final module will require a personal reflection of what you gained from doing this project.
Your work needs to include; appropriate background information, data, analysis, graduate-level writing, and recommendations. Include references as appropriate, double spaced with standard font, submit as a Word document, and follow APA guidelines.

Educator Interview-Choose a teacher or administrator with over five years of experience. Learn about their school, their philosophy of teaching/education and learning, engagement with equity issues, and more. Possible areas to explore might include the following:
How students have changed over time and current needs regarding philosophical approaches.
How has the role of teaching changed over time and what do future teachers need?
How has the curriculum changed over time?
How have views of equity and diversity changed over time?
How has the relationship between the community and the school changed?
