Your paper should be about a city or region. The paper should focus on some aspect of a development issue facing the city. Examples of issues facing the city might be, gentrification, income inequality, migration, gender violence, poverty, water shortage, pollution, housing shortage, or unemployment among others. You will need to describe in detail the issue and how it relates to the environment of that city/region. What are the attributes of the city/region (physical, economic, social, political, environmental etc.) that contribute to this development issue and what impact it did or will likely have on the environment, impacts it will have on different populations, and/or what/how the current pandemic/racial disparities broadly link to the development? How are citizens and governance structures responding to the issues you raise in your paper?
Your task is to collect information about the development issue, describe it in detail and evaluate it based on environmental/race/pandemic framework/structural circumstances, issues, and possibly information we have covered in class.
The paper, 5 to 8 full pages of text, should at least include an introduction, thesis statement, evidence to support the thesis, and conclusions.
This paper should be the result of extensive examination of peer reviewed research (only peer reviewed research articles should be used for the paper). (the paper must include a bibliography and in-text citations in the APA 6 or 7 style or the paper will earn 0 points)
