** My chosen topic is about increasing diversity in adult volleyball leagues.. I need help finding good, reputable sources for my topic and I’m struggling. Here is the info I have written about my topic so far..
“The community group I have chosen is my local recreational
adult volleyball league. The league is social and friendly/competitive in
nature and although the sport of volleyball seems to attract people from all
walks of life, this specific league plays in a very bougie town that has a reputation
for being upper-class or “rich. I have noticed that even though there is a
decent mix of males and females (there is a ratio requirement for each team),
there aren’t many people of color.
Adults can sign up to play each season through a company
called Go Kickball Charlotte and one can enlist a whole team (if one has one)
or one can sign up as a “free agent” and then assigned to a team. The games are
played weekly at a local pub with outdoor sand courts and the league lasts six
weeks. This is my first time on a volleyball league since I was a teenager and
I’ve only been with my team for three weeks now.”

Google Scholar that specifically searches scholarly literature. However, keep in mind that much of this literature may have limited or paid access. Another good place to search is in a public or university library catalog or database. Whichever way you choose to search, make sure that you are selecting credible sources.
What makes a source credible? Credible sources are written by authors who are well known in their field. They are based on scientific data—not opinions or with biased observations. Sources should be from reliable outlets, like major publishers, universities, think tanks, and credentialed current practitioners. (HINT: Refer back to Lesson 1.3.4: Researching Existing Sources for more guidance.)
