You are a delegate from New Hampshire at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. You have heard all of the various arguments – do you support an absolute federal negative, a partial federal negative, or no federal negative at all?
(In your paper, you are trying to persuade a fellow delegate who is wavering that your point-of-view is the right one.)
Suggested essay outline
· Thesis. You need to articulate a clear answer to the question.
· Provide context. What are the key issues of the time? What is going on that lead up to the question needing to be asked?
· Provide quoted evidence from the case. Your response must include at least two pieces of evidence from the case. (Cite the page number(s) from the case.)
· Conclusion. Simply repeating the points you have made one last time does not make your argument stronger, but you do want your essay to come to a clear and persuasive conclusion – the reader should believe your thesis – rather than just stop.
