What are the potential consequences of resistance to organizational change?
Recall a specific instance when you experienced significant change at work.
What was the overall outcome?
Personally, I don’t mind change! The only part of the change I find hard is when organizations take on new applications that don’t work for the overall company. Resisting change only causes problems and issues. In the past 5 years, the company I work for has been bought out twice. Lots of change occurs during the buyouts and two organizations becoming one. Resisting change only causes issues between departments and employees. Having a positive outlook and finding positive outcomes, helps make the transition easier. I always volunteer to be a change leader within the company. This position allows me to find out information first and relay the information to members of my division in a positive way.
Organizations can change due to changes in leadership, company buy-out, or a new focus or alignment within the mission of the company. Resisting change only proves to the organization that you are not willing to corporate and will be hard to deal with. Accepting change and finding better solutions to the problems that arise are employees leaders are looking to work with.
please make sure you do the peer review seperate.
