Some think that, once we’re dead, if we no longer exist, then we’re at least, finally, beyond harm. Is that true? Is it possible to be harmed by events that occur after you’ve died? George Pitcher thinks that a person can be harmed by events that occur after s/he dies? How? What are the strongest objections to Pitcher’s view? How does Pitcher respond to these objections? Are his responds plausible? Why or why not?

Some people think that death is a harm because it frustrates desires that we have, which suggests a way to avoid the harm of death: adjust our desires. Steven Luper thinks that, in the extreme, this is not a good strategy, but he endorses more moderate approach, which he calls Neo-epicureanism. Is Luper right to recommend the Neo-epicureanism strategy? Defend your answer.
