What assessment systems or processes are built in the educational technology tool?

For this assignment, you will create a faculty development booklet focused on a specific educational technology tool. You can use Weller’s (2020) 25 Years of Ed Tech as a reference to help you to determine what tool to focus on. You can choose any tool that is in current use, and you will note that does not exclude many of them. While “tool” often connotes applications or hardware, in this discussion, the term “tool” has a much broader meaning and can include such items as learning theories and open educational resources as well as artificial intelligence or video. As you can tell from Weller’s table of contents, he has an inclusive definition of educational technology tools which you can adapt for this assignment.
In this assignment, you will be focusing on the pedagogical attributes of the educational technology tool for faculty development purposes. In other words, you will not be teaching the mechanics of educational technology; rather you will be considering the learning and teaching attributes of the educational technology tool. You can decide if you want to focus on one specific discipline or if you want to concentrate on a general tool for faculty members in all disciplines.
You will see outlined below the major sections of the booklet that you will create, and you can add your own special touches as well. It is designed to be a written product, but if you want to embed that written product within a digital tool, you can feel free to do so. If you have any questions about a more experimental format, please feel free to contact the instructor.
Introduction (one paragraph)
As with all good introductions, you should write this last. After you have finished the substance of the project, you should write an overview that provides a map for your faculty readers, summarizing the substance of what you have covered.
Description of the Educational Technology (one double-spaced page)
You will need to provide a detailed description of the educational technology tool focusing on its attributes and its stated purpose. You will need to provide references to support your points, and you can use peer-reviewed research studies as well as vendor websites and articles in trade journals.
Guiding Principles (2-3 double-spaced pages)
You will need to provide some guiding principles for the use of the educational technology tool. In order to do so, you should review Chapter 2 of the Office of Educational Technology’s Reimagining the Role of Technology in Higher Education: A supplement to the National Education Plan. In developing your response, you should consider the following central questions.
How does the educational technology tool engage and empower learning?
How does the educational tool further effective teaching?
What assessment systems or processes are built in the educational technology tool?
You should be very specific about what principles you are adopting from this text and how they apply to the specific educational technology tool.
Use of Educational Technology (4-5 double-spaced pages)
You will need to develop 3-4 assignments ideas that would be adaptable to a broad range of disciplines within a higher education environment. In developing the assignments, you will need to focus on these four items:
The process that the students should follow to accomplish the product.
Helpful hints for using the technology tool.
The learning theories informing the assignment.
The universal design principles that are embedded in the assignment.
Analysis of Educational Technology and Implementation (2-3 double-spaced pages)
In this section, you will need to consider how to best implement this educational technology tool in a classroom and/or online environment, consider how its use conforms with national standards (Quality Matters, Accreditation, Academic Level) as well as the overall accessibility and equity of the tool (Universal Design). You will also need to discuss what types of resources are necessary for implementing the tool and what types of impediments might exist.
Format
As stated above, you can use a variety of different formats. You will need to use APA Style for grammar, citations, and references. You will need to use the material we have covered in the course, and you must also include at least 10 outside references that should be serious scholarly discussions or sources. In other words, you must avoid information websites.
