2. What mistakes were made in profiling this case? Knowing what you know about serial killers,
what guidance would you provide to police/government officials that should have been
considered? For example, what aspects are common among serial killers that were not present in
Scott Lehr’s case? What things do not fit the typical “serial killer”?
3. If you think Scott Lehr is guilty – why? What did prosecutors do right? If he is innocent, what
should be done in terms of “justice” for Scott Lehr?

The final project for this course requires you to create a work that proposes immigration reform you believe would be more just given the current global climate. Your project should focus on policy in the U.S. and build on the assignments that you have completed (through week six) for this semester. You may be creative with the format in which you deliver your argument. You may compose an essay, write a newspaper editorial, write and read a newscast segment in a setting of your choice, record a podcast, or write and perform a migration song. If you choose to do a newscast segment, podcast, or song, you must upload your recording to YouTube (please select the “unlisted” privacy category when you upload), or another easily accessible site, and send me a link that I may access without an account. You are welcome to employ others to interview or accompany you, but the research and writing for this assignment should be completed only by the student enrolled in this course.
A successful project must include the following:
Describe what should be changed (U.S. immigration policy in general) and explain why. Conversely, if you do not feel there is a need for change, explain why.
Name 3 specific policies will you focus on in this project and explain why they need to change and why you view these as the most urgent. If you do not feel any need to change, select 3 that you feel are the most important and explain how they contribute to collective well-being in the U.S.
Address what you believe to be at least 2 public misconceptions about the policies you propose to change (or keep) and express why you believe those misconceptions exist.
Discuss how people in the U.S., as members of a global society, might work to “fix the water pump” so to speak for one particular migration issue. (Recall Dr. Prilleltensky’s lecture and the story of John Snow and the water pump in London.)
