Every client you work with will be different in terms of their faith background. Even when working with clients who are Christians, you will find that they come from a variety of traditions that are different from each other and, in many instances, different from your own.
This assignment will give you the opportunity to experience and understand a church tradition that is different from your own and how those differences might affect the way in which you approach a client who comes from that tradition.
Church Visitation and Reflection
Visit a church that is culturally different than your own (i.e., worship style, speaking style, racially different) within the Protestant and Catholic spectrum of churches. Observe their culture and worship style. Reflect on the similarities and differences to your own culture and the worship style that you are used to. What could these differences mean for how you may need to approach your client when dealing with spiritual issues?
Then, write a two- to three-page paper reflecting on the things you observed while integrating information from Thomas (2020). Use APA formatting, including a title page and references section.
You may use first-person references for a reflection paper.
