What did you learn about the importance of “Knowing the World” (Bennie, 2009, pp. 67-93)? Bennie (2009) stated that “we shape life, rather than being shaped by it” (p. 73). How does he believe this is “borne out again and again” (p. 73) and why is it an important principle to understand? What are some of the highlights from Filling in the Gaps, the Broadening Experience, Friends and Mentors, and Learning from Adversity? In three to four pages, respond to the headings in the chapter and respond to the questions that follow one of Northouse’s Case Studies at the end of Chapter 5.
