What did you learn about your writing process and/or yourself as a writer over the course of this class?

Goal
This essay is meant to help you reflect on your writing and development as a
writer throughout the course of this semester through a self-critical, self-
aware lens that will aid you in transferring the skills you learned in this class
to your future college classes and beyond.

Assignment
Write an essay addressing the following question: What did you learn
about your writing process and/or yourself as a writer over the course
of this class? Consider also your research and revision processes.

Refer to the process of pre-writing, generating ideas, and drafting the three
formal essays, the process of revising, and the process of research. What
was challenging for you? What strategies worked? What did you learn? What
surprised you about your tendencies, strengths, etc.? You should refer to
examples and quotes from your major essays and the earlier drafts of
those essays.

Your essay will need a thesis statement that you support by discussing and
analyzing your writing process in terms of the writings you have done in this
class. In your introduction, you should establish for your reader the main
ideas of your essay, but avoid a clunky thesis statement such as “This essay
will…” beyond the first draft.
