Discussion Board: Sex and Gender
What do you really know about sex and gender? Is what you always thought to be true actually true or is there more to it? Based on the material in your text and the Ted talk (not your personal opinion), explain the differences between sex and gender.
The symbolic interactionist perspective refers to the ways we “do” gender in our interactions. Think about some of your daily routines, activities, and behaviors and offer examples of how you act and interact in gendered ways or manners. What types of reactions or responses do you think you might receive if you acted outside the traditional gender norms? Explain your response.
