What do you think the choreographer was trying to communicate?

Guidelines
Questions to consider when identifying your theme and pivotal moments: What do you think the choreographer was trying to communicate? Why do you think that? What led you to this conclusion based on the movement? Were there any motifs (movements that reappear as a theme)? How did the scenographic elements contribute to or detract from your interpretation? Did the costuming help guide you in your interpretation? Was the use of lighting helpful?

Watch the video of Jessica and Casey performing Like Real People Do, and follow the prompts as you begin to analyze the movement. Consider how the scenographic elements contribute or detract from the performance (the costuming, lighting, music, set, etc.). Also consider the choreographic elements of time, space, and energy, specifically Laban’s Oppositional Pairs:
Weight: Strong or Light
Strong – weighted, heavy, earthbound
Light – graceful, easy, airy
Time: Sudden or Sustained
Sudden – quick, sharp, unpredictable
Sustained – slow, continuous, predictable
Space: Direct or Indirect
Direct – distinct and clear straight pathways, focused and intentional
Indirect – unpredictable or random pathways, all over the place
Flow: Bound or Free
Bound – tight, restrained, constricted
Free – loose, unpredictable, flowing, appearing effortless
Then, reflecting on the material in this Module, create your own thread discussing the following (20 points):
