The last chapter of the text involves the possibility of life existing elsewhere in the universe. But, long before we get there, we can still talk about our thoughts of life in the universe. Earth is the only place in our solar system where we know that life exists. But, elsewhere in the universe is another question. In this discussion topic, I would like your thoughts on two questions.
What do you think the likelihood is that life existing elsewhere in the universe? Explain your reasoning for this question based on your own ideas and what you have learned in this chapter.
What do you think would happen if extraterrestrial intelligence were to be discovered and the information released to the public. What do you think the reaction would be? How do you think it would change people?
