European countries use high gasoline taxes as an instrument of environmental policy. In some countries of the World, high taxes are also applied to Industries and manufacturers emitting large amounts of CO2 and environmental pollutants derived from the use of fossil fuels.
What do you think we should do here in the USA to decrease the rate at which we are using fossil fuels? Should we implement higher taxes on gasoline? Should industries that use fossil fuels, like power plants pay high environmental taxes? Should these fonds coming from these taxes be used to research on new green energy sources?
