Option #2: Board of Directors Presentation
Imagine that you have been asked to present to the Board of Directors serving the local community animal shelter called ABC Animal Rescue. The Board members hired you as a consultant to train them in relationship building with the volunteers and the local community. You agree because you are passionate about this charity.
Using the results of the “New Drivers of Leadership” self-assessment, and the 10 traits from the Jones (2015) article “What Employees Want in a Leader,” create a training presentation for the Board to build relationships and trust within the community and with volunteers. Include the following:
Leadership characteristics needed to build trust
Leadership characteristics needed to build relationships
How to obtain those leadership characteristics
How to use those characters (application or actions needed)
Provide an appropriate introduction (Links to an external site.), which includes your thesis statement
Your presentation will include 5-8 slides using PowerPoint, Prezi, or a video recorded presentation.
Use citations (Links to an external site.) in your presentation and corresponding references at the end slide when referring to the articles or authors (see references below). If you use a video recording, please cite the author or authors and the year of publication in your presentation. As an example, “According to Jones in 2018, leaders need to build strong relationships with their followers.” Also submit a list of references used in your video recording in a separate Word document.
If you do not use narration (Links to an external site.) or a video recording, use speaker notes (Links to an external site.) to write out what you would normally narrate.
For video recording, you may consider using Screen-Cast-O-Matic (Links to an external site.) or another recording medium to create and share with your instructor.
