What factors have made it harder for you to make a pro-environment choice?

Module E: Applying Social Psychology to the Environment
Do you recycle and what drives you to do it? How serious you are about it? Do you take short showers to limit your water usage? In what other ways do you help the environment? Identify your actions that might hurt the environment. Do any of these situations or actions of yours fit the features of the “tragedy of the commons”? If so, what factors drive you to make prosocial choices? What factors have made it harder for you to make a pro-environment choice?
Recall a time when you felt crowded. How did that feeling affect your actions in that situation? Were there other instances in which you were in a crowd and didn’t feel crowded? What accounts for the difference in your perceptions in those two situations?
Give details of the biggest environmental disaster that has affected you personally. Did you know it was coming and in what state of mind you were in during that period? How did knowing (or not knowing) affect the way you experienced the disaster? How did your feelings about it change over time?
