What has generally been your attitude toward reading?

What Is this Reading Thing?
Take a moment and reflect on your reading process. When you read a work, whether, an article, a novel, a poem, a Facebook post, etc. Now think about these questions:

• What has generally been your attitude toward reading? Why?
• Do you analyze it as you read? Or do you wait until after you’ve read it? Do you analyze it at all, or take it at face value?
• Do you highlight the pages or make a mental note of the details that stick out to you? Do you write notes down? What situation get’s you to do this?
• Do you typically remember what you’ve read, or do you need a refresher right away? If you remember some things, but not others, what do you typically remember?
• When do you pay attention to who the writer is, or what publication it comes from? Or do you typically ignore these factors?
• When you read something you have trouble understanding, what steps do you take to better understand it? Do you look up certain words? Re-read the work or parts of it?
• What are you good at as a reader? What can you improve on?
• How does thinking about your reading process change your view of it?

Now write out a one paged-double spaced response, working with these questions, and any other thoughts or observations of your process that come to mind. The assignment should be in essay form.
