For your essay, I want you to address the following.
In your own words, what was the purpose of this research project?
What hypothesis or hypotheses do you believe the researchers examined? You may have to infer the hypothesis or hypotheses based on your reading of the introduction (hint, read carefull6).
Be sure to follow the examples presented in Chapter 3.
For each hypothesis, what are the independent and dependent variables?
What measurement scale represents each variable in the study? Why?
What are the operational definitions of the variables in the study?
Considering the dependent variable, how would you describe the reliability and validity of the measure?
Are the independent variable(s) subject or manipulated variables? Why?
Based on your reading of the project, what population(s) are the researchers attempting to describe.
Using the two graphs, write a brief description of the results.
Do the data presented in the graph support the researcher’s hypotheses? Why?
Based on Chapter 3, are there components of the research that allow the participants to make a cause-and-effect conclusion? Why?
