What is one way your perspective of the world has changed based on a theory or concept you learned in this class? For example, you might say you have never understood how they trained Shamu to jump through a hoop at SeaWorld but now understanding how classical and operant conditioning works, you realize that they probably used a combination of positive reinforcement (treats) for desired behaviors, success by approximations to learn baby steps leading up to the trick (like first training them to swim in the desired direction, then swim through a hoop underwater, then how to breach out of the water, and finally how to jump out of the water and through the hoop), and pairing a conditioned response to a previously unconditioned stimulus (like bridging the reward by using a dog whistle to let Shamu know they did the right thing without having to give them a treat).
