Tips on How to Write a Great CLFM Book Review
Thoroughly answer all the questions that make up the assignment (see the syllabus)
Do not give just a summary of the book. I’ve read it. I want to see you engage with the book, converse with it, and analyze it.
Look at the book as a whole. Do not get caught up or focused on just one section or chapter of the book.
Do not the call the book a “novel.” All of these books are non-fiction. Novels are fiction.
Do not use casual, colloquial, or conversational language.
After you’ve written your paper, read it out loud. If it makes senses and flows well out loud, it will read that way, too.
You are asked to give your take and to describe how your opinion on the subject has been affected. Do not give lengthy personal stories. Do not give your whole faith story. (These stories are certainly important and valuable, but they are not part of this assignment). Stick to the topic and your thinking about the topic.
