You can think about cultural competency as a continuum starting with cultural knowledge, moving to awareness, then to cultural sensitivity, and then finally to cultural competence. What does cultural competency mean to you? Why is it important for public health professionals and organizations to move beyond cultural knowledge and awareness to sensitivity and cultural competence?
