A good outline should help you to organize the required sections of your paper and the order in which you will present your paper’s content.
You are to submit a 1-2-page research paper outline. The outline format should be as follows:
The following sections are to be included in your outline. These are the same sections as you will have in your research paper.
A clear thesis statement (what is your criminal justice problem?)
History or background of the problem (When/did it start?)
What is the impact (harm) caused by the issue?
Changes or improvements – These are changes or improvements you imagine based on your research. This should not be a recitation of a solution you found during your research. This is something you develop on your own
Conclusion – The conclusion should neatly summarize your work. In text citations for some of your sources should be in your outline.
The following outlines the structure of your outline
Your outline should be in Roman Numeral Format and contain 5 main sections. The first section (section I.) should contain a clear statement of your research issue. The remaining sections ( II. – IV.) should correspond with paper sections as outlined in the assignment.
Use capital letters (A,B,C, etc.) to divide your main points into parts.
Use Arabic numerals “numbers” (1, 2, 3, etc.) if you need to subdivide any “As”, “Bs”, or “Cs” into smaller parts.
Use in-text citations in your outline
Include a properly formatted APA 6th edition citation page (does not count in outline page count).
A title page with proper headers are required for this assignment
