Your final essay in this course will be an argument essay. The purpose of any given argument is to convince others that your point of view is the best point of view. A developed argument essay requires significant work and time, so choosing a topic in which you’re interested is very important. For your final essay, you will take a position on a topic (choose from the list below). Your job is to provide facts, evidence, statistics, and examples to support your position. This essay will follow the above guidelines for written assignments in this class, and will be 1400-1500 words in length with a works cited page of 5 sources. Your essay should include the following:
Introduction (introduce your topic including your thesis statement)
Body (provide evidence to support your claim, including a topic sentence for each paragraph)
Conclusion (summarize and end the essay)

Paying College Athletes (they should or should not be paid)
Open carry on college campuses (it should or should not be allowed)
Drinking age (should be lowered or remain the same)
Smoking in restaurants (should or should not be banned)
Random drug testing for baseball players (either they should or should not be tested)
Vaccinations (either kids should or should not be vaccinated)
Gun Control
Additional student parking should be added to the Southeast Campus.
Homeschooling is a more effective approach to learning.
Topics that are banned for this essay include the following:

Death Penalty
Sexuality (transgender, same sex, etc)
Politics
Religion
Euthanasia
These topics cannot be argued because they are based on personal emotions and moral values.
